1967 - 1968 Ford Mustang

The first generation Ford Mustangs marked a new era in United States automobile production.

 A sporty, high performance car was available to the public for the first time at an affordable price – and Americans loved it. Lee Iacocca, the visionary Ford marketing genius designed the Ford Mustang platform to be whatever the consumer wanted it to be, and the legacy of that strategy is a vehicle that today remains the best-selling sport vehicle in history. Ford had no competition in the first three years the Mustang was in production. Dubbed the “Pony Car,” the model was so successful, selling 1.3 million by the end of the 1966 production run, that Chevrolet scrambled to get in on the boom.
